the BIG vacation

First of all, it's been a long time so here goes a big one! I don't expect anyone to read all of this but I will add lots of pictures and you can pretty much tell yourself in 5 seconds what I'm trying to say in this long post!  I left for Christmas vacation on December 3rd while Mike stayed to finish finals without us bothering him.The boys (mainly Grandpa...He bought them when Kade was born and has been SO excited to give them to him! We still have to roll them cause they're a 3T!) couldn't wait until Christmas eve to give him his pajamas so he got them early. Little Bubba Stewart pj's.

At the ward Christmas party.. in Bethlahem, that's why we're on the floor. We were 2 wise men & an angel.
Mike flew into Denver with the Andersen boys (minus Dallin) where they hunted turkey, pheasant, rabbit and coyote in Kansas. Needless to say we had LOTS of meat at every meal after that.

They were able to get together one last time with all the boys to spend some time with Jason right before he left for the Monterey Mexico
West Mission! We all flew out headed for California. We spent a couple days in CA, had Jason's farewell and then left for the cabin. There are SO many fun details that I am leaving
out but just know that when you are with the Andersen's it's always an action packed adventure! Needless to say half of us made it to the cabin safely while the other half sent search & rescue out to look for us as they spent the night in Urgent care! We had a Mexican Christmas at the cabin to celebrate Jason's last Christmas home for a while. We had SO much fun at the cabin sledding, ice fishing and playing LOTS of games!

2 days after Christmas we headed for Bountiful for Shane & Sadie's wedding reception.
We met up with my family, had the reception and left the next morning for Kansas. We got home at 9:30 that night, unpacked then re-packed and boarded the train at 11:30pm! Next stop Nauvoo!
Shane & Sadie were married on the 30th of December, it was so much fun being in Nauvoo in the winter. We saw a couple site, had the wedding took a deep breath and then got back on the train at 7 o'clock that same night headed for Kansas! The train was so much fun. I highly recommend it. Most of us went to the lounge car and played games until we couldn't stand it. The train drove through the night and we were home the next morning.

In Kansas we celebrated new year's eve, had the open house and then just hung out and took a break from all the traveling and partying. I started some craft projects, we went shooting and the usual Kansas stuff. Not really sure what the usual is but we stay busy.

Also... a little shout out for Jake's girlfriend Michelle, she was with us the whole time and had to do things the Steel way for a while. She is AMAZING in every way! She tried out for Upper Valley idol for those of you in Rexburg. She made it and the show is the 16th, 17th & 24th. Go listen to her amazing set of pipes and cheer her on! And vote for her if they do that

Jake & Michelle...sorry not the best picture but they're cute anyway.
Vacation was great. It is always great to see family but it's also SO nice to be back in the beautiful sunshine! Come visit us and hang out on the beach in January! It's a really great feeling to get a sunburn in the winter!
