A quick update before it gets too crazy around here, I started this post a week ago & it's taken me this long to get back to it. For Mike's spring break we ran to one of our favorite places in Florida. We LOVE Orlando! It was a quick trip but fun nonetheless. Of course we went to the temple. Thank goodness we have one so close! We run there every chance we get, so beautiful & such a great break from Miami. On the way home we visited Florida's Natural and had some delicious orange juice! Besides the fact that I just love road trips, I love driving and being surrounded by the miles of beautiful orange groves. I even love the sign that has a picture of a bear & says next 12 miles. Who woulda thought? I keep hoping I'll see one. We attempted to fly a kite. Not sure what it is but Mike & I are awful kite flyers. We have actually never gotten this kite in the air. We bought it when we were first married and 5 years later are still unsuccessful. I was hoping to blame it on the dollar store kite but when my family was here Tayler & my Dad got the kite in the air first try. Tayler kept saying, "What's so hard about flying a kite? All you do is run with it." ...Thanks Tayler, now I feel even better about myself. Our adventures were fun but the beginning of the next week the fun got even better! My family (now the family of 4) came in town. We packed as much fun as we could in one week. We tried to do it all but I had to leave a few things out so we could get them back one more time before we move. I'm going to post a little scrapbook with some pictures of our fun. (Not cute at all but the only one that would fit that many pictures). We had to do the everglades and see all the alligators. The gators are just walking around freely, it's a little tempting not to think, what would happen if I touched one? So, because we all thought it and voiced it, Tayler was the one to put it in action. He found a stick and reached out to poke the gator. We were all standing around watching to see if he would even move. This gator jumped so fast in our direction we were all SO SO shocked! We jump & nearly wet our pants running away. SO funny, sorta! Mike was in front of us walking in our direction. He was laughing so hard & when I asked him if he saw that he said No, but I saw the entire family jump & run! That was probably the last time we will ever wonder if those giant alligators who just sit in the sun all day lifeless are really as scary as they make them seem. We're Steel's, the curiosity is just in our blood.
We took an air boat ride, went to a Heat game. Met Michael Beasley (former K-state player) & Mario Chalmers (former KU player) who now play for the Heat. We Shopped, had a beach day, hit South Pointe Park, headed up the coast to Ft. Meyers an area where my dad served his mission explored that town, saw Thomas Edison's home then spent the rest of the day on Captiva island walking up & down the beach searching for shells. We deep sea fished. Mom caught a big one & Ryan caught an even bigger 38 lb. 48 inch Wahoo. So fun to watch him reel that one in! Made for a delicious dinner that night. I was the only one who got skunked that day. Darn the luck. I love when our visitors get to be here for vacation instead of when we're making a hospital visit. I love having them either way but man, it's a lot more fun this way! I loved having family around and can't wait for them to come back. Our next visitors arrive tonight! My FAVORITE sister and her sweet little family. Loads of fun here we come!

What's in there, orange juice or water?

He was almost more successful than we were.

DUH!? You poked a gator?!? Oh my goodness. Remind me never to go there with you. :) Didn't you hear that they say they've only had one accident there (cause I worried about that with them out in the open- would they ever just attack someone?) - and it was when someone fell on an alligator. But I'm sure poking them would be a good cause for accident number two!
I love when our husbands get a break from school/work. Spring Break is awesome. Your new little baby is so cute.
Brit, I wish so bad we could come and visit. All that stuff you did sounds so dang fun. I love that you guys poked the gator, that is so something someone in my family would do :) Your kids are so cute and I wished we lived closer so we could hang out. Where are you guys going to go after Mike is done with school? Do you know yet?
Your adventures make me miss Florida and hanging out with you guys sooo much! Glad everyone is doing well, we miss you!
Thats so hilarious about the gator. I wish you would have got that on tape. I can only imagine. Man we so need to get out there and see you. Miss you guys, have fun with Brooke and Skyler that should be a blast.
Looks like you guys had a great time. Love your pictures! I was in Florida from March 26th-April 1st. We stayed on Ft. Myers Beach and spent some time on Sanibel Island. I guess Florida is THE place to go for Spring Break!
What a fun adventure you got to go on! I loved road trips til Shane and I drove for 2 days. It was fun but I really didn't look forward to being in a car that long again.
That is awesome that you poked a gator with a stick and it got the best of you. Shane and I learned if you even approach a gator approach it dead on b/c it can't lurch forward very well. It can go side to side like it's nobodies business...so fyi...next time you poke a gator poke it on the nose while standing in front of it. ;)
Your babes are adorable! I love the pics of all of you in the orange grove. What a fun adventure!
Sounds like you guys had lots of fun. You have soem great pictures. I love the pictures at the orange orchard. They are beautiful. And I can't believe you guys poked a gator! Crazy!
How are you cute Andersens???? We really need to catch up soon, we miss you guys!
